how would we know?...............most of us never had it........didn't make any difference...........we talked about it...........fantasied about it...........dreamt about it..........i' m sure because we could't have it.

I totally believe you but it seems so crazy to hear these stories after being so brainwashed about what a holy place Bethel is. I visited there once and everything just seemed so perfect.

as all you jdub ex children know the middle song meant a toilet break and a bit of a break from the madening boardem of the pubic talk ..... .
one time i went to the toilet late into the song ....... as i came in i saw only a few other kids at the urinal talking... i said "do you ever come to the toilet just for fun" they didnt answer ..... just had this stunned look on thier faces as they left in a hurry .... there was an elder around the corner and he had heard what i said .... he asked me " do you love jehovah".
he asked " do you want to go to the new world".
I used to count the minutes until the song break and then go to the washroom. Take my time, wash my hands for like 5 minutes, hope someone cool would be in the washroom at the same time so we could chat. Anything to take away from the boredom of it all. Then there was a talk given about the importance of not going to the washroom during the song unless it was absolutely neccessary b/c that was when we would sing our praises to Jeh. Huh. I was some kind of mad. I remember for the longest time I wasn't allowed to go at the break.

i have never seen this guy stumped on a bible topic or point before, but history was made today!!!
he and a soon-to-be elder were doing a shepherding call on my wife and i because we've missed weeks worth of meetings and had no service time for dec. he went through the usual lectures about how we're cutting off jehovah by missing meetings (because we all know god won't lift a finger for those who don't go to meetings, right?
) he gave some good illustrations- the guy really is a good teacher, it's just what he's teaching that's questionable.

I remember one brother in my congo growing up who had a beard. He was extremely gifted intellectually. He was allowed to comment but they wouldnt' appoint him to MS, elder or pioneer until he shaved it off. He asked repeatedly to pioneer but they wouldn't let him. He went in service though...anyway, he finally shaved it off and then voila, MS, regular pioneer almost instantly.

i've put this off for a long time... primarily becuase, while i thought my story was bad, i've read so many worse and heart-rending stories here.
i think, though, there is some therapeutic value in 'letting it all out' with others who know what 'it' was like.
I just finished reading part 2...I'm not sure I can endure part 3.
I'm so sorry for your pain!!! If I had anything helpful to say to you I would. I haven't figured that out yet.

an ex-jw has killed herself in the parking lot of a kingdown hall.

it seems to me that most witnesses still don't know about the un scandal.
since it has been such a useful tool in helping people see the truth about the lying duplicity of the watchtower, how can we get this message out to more in the organization?
I guarantee my family doesn't know about it. If they have gotten wind of it somehow, they would have just refused to see it for what it really is...they have an excuse for everything.
Also too, they wouldn't investigate it b/c
a) they don't have internet to look into the matter further b/c the society cautions against it and,
b) b/c that would be reading apostate literature to them.
Since I have been shunned, I have no idea how to let them know!! Not that they would see it for what it really is anyways...

we went to see the inlaws after their unexpectadly long vacation because fil ended up getting sick and kept them there about a month.
all was fine till "brothers" started showing up.
one showed up and didn't acknowledge my hubby, much less me.
My heart goes out to you and your hubby. I can definately relate!! I'm sorry, it's a very unfortunate situation...!
